To identify if the phones can be repurposed, you will need to check each individually. Steps to do so are as follows:
Identify the appropriate button: a. Locate the button labeled "OK" in the center of a directional pad of buttons. b. If the "OK" button is not present, find the redial button which looks similar to a recycle logo (4th button on the right).
Attempt to factory reset (DO NOT complete the reset): a. Press and hold the "OK" button or the redial button (whichever is present) for at least 15 to 30 seconds. b. Wait for a message on the phone's screen stating, "Warning Reset to factory setting?" with the options for "Cancel" or "OK". c. IMPORTANT: Select "Cancel" when prompted with this message to avoid deregistering the phone and causing it to stop working.
Analyze the response: a. If you are prompted with the "Warning Reset to factory setting?" message, it is safe to assume that the device is not administratively locked and can be registered to VoIP services provided by Kontak. b. If you are prompted to enter an administrative password during the factory reset attempt, note that this is an indication that the phone is administratively locked.
In the event that the phones are locked, you can send the same phone list you provided us to the current provider and ask them for the administrative password.
