There are multiple factors that determine whether an incoming call would be labeled “Spam Likely” or “Spam Risk”. Many of these factors are controlled by regulatory agencies and not by Kontak Retriever directly.
Customers Still Switching to Kontak
If you are still in the process of switching your phone services to Kontak Retriever and your phone numbers have NOT ported to our network yet, your phone numbers may show up as Spam. This would only occur when you dial out of your Kontak phones.
This is due to the FCC’s (Federal Communications Commission) new STIR/SHAKEN regulations regarding “Spoofing” that became effective in June of 2021. “Spoofing” is a term that refers to the act of displaying a specific phone number when making an outbound call through a carrier that does not currently control that same phone number.
Fortunately, this issue will resolve itself once your numbers officially port to Kontak.
Customers With Numbers Ported To Kontak
If your phone numbers have already been ported to Kontak Retriever, then it's possible someone, somewhere has reported your phone number as Spam. Unfortunately, Kontak is unable to remove phone numbers from the spam list directly. You can report your number as legitimate by filling out the online forms below or emailing specific spam report providers listed.
